Langkawi has a population of 45,000 and its main town is Kuah. On June 1st, 2007, Langkawi was given a World Geo Park status by UNESCO. Three of the island’s unique heritage namely, Mount MatCincang, Kilim Geo Forest Park & Pulau Tasik Dayang Bunting (Island of the Pregnant Maiden Lake)

Best time to travel
Sheltered by the Peninsula Malaysia mountains, Langkawi boasts some of the country’s best sunny clear skies throughout the year. However, do expect some rain showers between May to September.
